The Asian-America gymnast who is named Sunisa Lee a.k.a. Suni Lee wins a gold medal at the individual all-around competition in women’s gymnastics. The individual all-around competition is a competition between gymnasts. It is different than the team competition. In this competition every woman attempts to win a medal for her overall score that they receive on the four gymnastic apparatuses: the vault, the floor exercise, the uneven bars, and, finally, the balance beam. The competition is not about the different national teams. It is about one woman who can win over all the others.
Sunisa Lee received a 57.433 in the individual all-around competition. She beat Rebecca Andrade of Brazil who received a silver medal in the individual all-around competition. She also beat Angelina Melnikova of Russia who received a bronze medal in the competition.
Sunisa Lee made history as the first Hmong American to win a gold medal at the Olympics. A Hmong is a type of race from the country of Vietnam.
