R. Kelly is a R & B singer who was once popular. Now, R. Kelly is found guilty of multiple cases of sexual assault and sex trafficking. He is convicted of targeting girls, women, and boys, and grooming them for a sex cult that he was the leader of. He is convicted of trafficking young women across state lines to be sex workers. He also allegedly bribed someone in the government so that his marriage to a fifteen-year-old R & B singer named Aaliyah was determined legal by the government (Aaliyah was an R & B singer who died in the 1990’s era in a tragic plane crash).
Fifty witnesses spoke-up at R. Kelly’s trial. The women who spoke-up said that R. Kelly controlled the women’s everyday lives. He told the women when they could get up and use the restroom. He forced them to do sexual acts on him.
R. Kelly will be sentenced on May 4, 2021. He will face a minimum time of ten years in jail. He may get life in prison.
R. Kelly was also convicted of twenty-one counts of child pornography in the year 2002.
The attorney who is named Gloria Allred was the woman who defended R. Kelly’s victims. “Of all the predators that I have pursued R. Kelly is the worst,” she said. “R. Kelly thought he could get away with this, but he did not. I am very proud of my clients who agreed to testify on this case.”
A woman that R. Kelly sexually assaulted testified against the R & B singer. Her name is Sonya. She said, “I have been hiding against Robert Kelly in fear due to threats made against me. I am now ready to live my life free from fear. I want to start the healing process. I want to thank the jury for truly listening to my testimony.”
The Assistant U.S. Attorney had this to say about the case: “R. Kelly believes the music, the fame, and the celebrity meant that he could do whatever he wanted to do. He’s not a genius. He is a criminal. He is a predator.”
This is what R. Kelly had to say about the verdict that he faced: “Believe me, man! This is not me! They lying on me! They’re lying on me! I’m cool, bro.
I’m cool. I’m good. I’m not afraid because I’m telling the truth. I’m not afraid because I’m telling the truth!”
This is great news for women everywhere. R. Kelly was very obviously a sexual predator that used his fame and his money to act in a depraved an inhumane manner toward his victims.
